Email from Brown this morning

I assume I am going to receive only the answer “Yes” to this, but did everyone who applied RD get an email this morning from Brown reminding them that the decisions would be mailed on March 31st and that you could log in to your status site no earlier than 5pm on March 31st to also receive your notification?

only those accepted got it

Do they do the same for ED?

I got the email this morning too. I think every single RD applicant will get that email.

Yes, except it said no earlier than 5:30 PM, not 5:00 PM.

jcll - I hope that is not true. What's your basis for concluding that only the accepted received an email?

Xsteven,
mine says no sooner than 5 pm.

Mine says no earlier than 6 (my local time)...wonder what the disparity in times means...

The time disparity is only to keep the server from collapsing with all the clicks I bet! I just checked last year's thread about this very subject and then checked whether there was any correlation between getting the email, the time it asks you to check or your location with an acceptance and there is absolutely none. Some of those who were told 5pm were accepted and some rejected and some waitlisted and that held for 5:30, 6PM and 6:30...so no need to think about this for another second:)

Thanks for the clarification srb162! I am still baffled, however, that S has not received an email at all. Could they be going out in waves? If it does not come by the end of the day, should I ask his counselor at school to follow up? If anyone has any thoughts, let me know. I'm an anxious parent -- and if my son knew I was posting, he would probably flip out!

Mamae, has he checked his spam folder? it could have gotten caught in the filter and is sitting right there...

If not, however, I would suggest having him log in to his application stuff to make sure it all says "complete", and if it does and he still hasn't gotten an email, I would write to admissions about it. Asking his school counselor would probably be overkill and not any more helpful than your son emailing himself.

Mine says:

"your admission decision will be available online on
Tuesday, March 31, 2009 no sooner than 5:30PM (your local time)."

if you go to last year thread you'll see that even rejected people has received emails!! everydody will be notified, but maybe not at the same time or the same day!! i can't check my D 's mail because i don't have her password , but i'm sure that if it's not today, she will be notified as well, one of those days..

Thanks for talking me off the ledge, everyone. S's email finally arrived at 11:45 a.m.

They sent this message to everyone who has an application account for 2013--I got in ED and I still got the email this morning telling me decisions would be posted at 5:30.

This e-mail just made me a million more times nervous for the acceptances to come back. I've been relatively calm so far (at least compared to my obsessive parents...) but this has just made everything seem so real and finalized.

The real question is, what USERID and PASSKEY do we use to log into the Admissions Decisions page? The same one we created to log on to our Application Status page, or the original one sent to us by email from Brown?

I got 5pm.. so i think the earlier they tell you to check, the more likely it is you got accepted :D

LOL im just kidding relax

I knew this was going to be talked about, haha.

Anyways, I'm like 100% sure every applicant got that e-mail.

I think it's by your time zone- Brown releases it at 5 out east. Kids in central, like moi, check at 6, and kids between east and central might check at 5:30...?
