Received an Email!

L, Illinois, 6pm local time
i can't wait!

twink1etwinkle, your last name starts with Y? How cool!

I'm a J, East Coast, 6pm.

I'm a C, from CT (so east coast), and the time they gave me was 5 pm. I don't think I'll check before; I'll have UPenn to check the same day so i have to think about which i want to find out from first.

Ah the same dilemma as Calidan.

I don't even know when my other schools will let me check, I'm hoping they'll send instruction emails.

Ah Brown is so nice and user friendly :D

I wonder if all of my schools are on the same day, and I'm also glad Brown is back on schedule. I will probably open up Brown first. It is my favorite, so it would be fitting.

any intls got email??? i want an email..6:00 EST will be like 4:30 AM my time...but i'll be there since midnight (will be done w/school by then...)
i am sure...i'll say this b4 the d-day...but gud luc guys...if all of us got in (which i wish wud be true) we'd be the most rockin class at brown ever...

O, New Jersey, 5:30 pm ... and I'm definitely going to be checking Brown first. woot! (at least I hope "woot!") :)

To answer an earlier quesiton I applied PLME and got the e-mail, recently though.
K, 6 PM Texas(central) time. We are all going to flood the site, I wish I could flood the site but I have practice till 6. The time works perfectly. YAY

Oh and by the way I am so glad that Brown sends out these information e-mails.

Will anyone else be on vacation when they receive their decision? I'll be in Mexico until April 2nd, and I don't think I'm going to check while I'm down there. (Don't want to ruin my trip if I get rejected, but I don't want to party too hard if I get in)
btw, I'm an F from Minnesota and my time is 5

mine says 5 pm, West Coast, D

do you think the times have anything to do with their admissions decision? Did someone already ask that? My eyes hurt like hell

no adides, i didn't get an email either.

looking forward to the wee hours of april 1 ;)

i'm confused, i got an email that says 5 MY local time, i'm an "m" and in hawaii. so...i thought i was going to be sneaky and get my decision early (kinda), cause i'm 5 hours ahead of the east coast and i wasn't expecting anything until midnight my time.

that made no sense.

i thought ivy leagues weren't allowed to tell before april 1st? so...maybe brown's counting on the servers being overloaded, so that even if we all log on at 5, we won't get to actually SEE anything till the next day. that must be it. ;)

Maybe online doesn't really count, kind of like likely letters? i.e. the only "official" way of letting someone know is with a real letter?

hey, ariadne! my e-mail said 5pm my time also (live in hawaii too... it's me from hoby :)) but i don't think i'll be checking online (although i'll b dying to know). i want the traditional way of looking in the mailbox. i have an agreement with my family that no one even opens the mailbox in april :). i quiz them on it every now and then... "who gets the mail in april?"

but... 5pm hawaii time... does that mean they send it all out at the same time and it happens to be 5pm hawaii time (11/12am east coast time)... if so, we could actually get our decisions "before" others (not really). or is it that all around everyone gets it at 5pm their time?

btw... i'm a "k" but don't really get the whole alpha order thing...

5:00 CA first letter of last name is M, applied to PLME

We were trying to see if there was an alphabetical order to who recieved their mail. It could possibly be by the number they assigned to you in the office, your birthdate, your social security number or any one of a million things. So unless we want to share our intimate details I doubt that we will be able to locate the exact divisive factor in the times.

argh, trying to think of all the various reasons for the various times is kinda freaking me out. maybe we should just wait till march 31 to see if there is a method to this madness =) actually, i don't think i can wait that long....

zante: yup, i'm a "y..." its a hassle when teachers do anything in alphabetical order though....i'm always waiting forever. and in my class of 430-odd kids, i'll be something like the seventh to last to get my diploma...

At least you can catch up on your sleep during graduation. My name is middle of the row in a class of about 100 so we go through everything pretty fast.

My son got a 6:30 pm time on the email notice. East coast/mid-Altantic

C - 5:00 PM - California

Definitely had a heart-through-the-roof moment when I saw the subject line of the e-mail...
