I got an email today saying that my app was complete, and that decisions would be mailed in mid-may.

Dear Transfer Applicant,

As of today your Tranfer file is complete. Decisions will be mailed middle of May.
Thank you for your continued interest in Yale.

hmmm...I didn't get that e-mail...

I wonder how many applicants they're accepting this year...

Possibly more than usual, due to a lower than normal group of applicants last year.

How do you know that this year's transfer applicant pool is smaller than usual? How many people applied?

I was talking about the application pool for the freshman class of 2011. That is the class we are vying for spots in.

While we are vying for acceptance to the Class of 2011, the dip in the size of the applicant pool last year seems negligible, as Yale still did fill a full class (~1,320 students).

hm. guess this doesn't apply to me, since I'm applying as a junior.

right, but more might transfer out. Who knows?

It's slightly embarrassing for Yale that they're emailing this to EVERY candidate.

A few things I noticed,

Before:

Dear Transfer Applicant,

Thank you for your continued interest in Yale.

lol, DeterminateLaw. I noticed that, too. I didn't receive the second one, though.

haha, yep! i copy-pasted that email straight from my inbox, so now we know that yale admissions officers can make typos and forget prepositions. they're human too. also, i kind of feel badly that they have to go straight from freshman apps to transfer apps. they must be exhausted. when is their vacation?
