Receiving financial aid

When will we receive our financial aid in order to pay for school fees? The first payment is sept 17 so will we receive it by then? I signed up for DEFT and i haven't received an email yet.

I noticed that too. If you accepted the school paying your fees first, then they will cover it.

Check your Zot Account ( <a href=“UCInetID Secure Web Login - Loading Session Information”>UCInetID Secure Web Login; ) and it should show that you have a CR balance, which means they will cut you a check (or auto deposit) that amount. When?

The “Important Dates” lists the date as September 24th. [Important Dates: Freshmen Undergraduate Students](<a href=“Dates & Deadlines | Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships | UCI”>Dates & Deadlines | Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships | UCI)

Do you know if you accepted a subsidized loan, would the whole amount you borrowed come out including what is left over from your financial aid? And is it required to pay a monthly for the principal loan, not the interest when you start school?/can you pay off the whole principal loan before you end school and not pay any interest? Sorry if I am asking such a heavy dense questions about loans

Interest accrues from the moment you take out the loan - they encourage you to pay the interest while you’re in school but its not required.

You can have the payments for your loan deferred until 6 months after you graduate - this is something you arrange with your lender. There are a lot of options and to view them all you should read this page. [Repay Your Loans | Federal Student Aid](http://studentaid.ed.gov/repay-loans)

Also this is the page of the company that handles the majority of these loans: https://www.mygreatlakes.org/</a></p>

If you can qualify for it do the government loans as their interest rate is MUCH lower than private loans.

Usually all the funding (loans, grants, financial aid) pours into UCI where they take out all of the fees and then cut you a check (or auto deposit) the remaining amount. The auto debit is faster.

Hope that helps!
