Was reading curve harsh? Cuz surprisingly it was my lowest grade

wait how can subscores on English both be 18 but the score is 35?
eatdrink also got a 35 with subscores 16 and 18 – can that be right?

How do you figure out curve? I think math curve must have been harsh.

I felt the Math curve was a bit harsh, but the Reading was fine. Just my two cents though.

Good job to everyone who got the score they wanted! If you didn’t do as well as you hoped, there’s always another time!

i think reading curve is harsh cause i got a 34 on it and both my subscores are 17

also, i hope science had a harsh curve or else i’m just bad at science haha

I don’t understand. 27 for the third time. I honestly don’t know what else to do. I can hammer out 30+ across the board with practice tests (red book), yet it makes no difference whatsoever. Having taken precalc, ap stats, etc, you’d think I could muster up something higher than a 29 in math (I did extremely well in both those courses, mind you).

Timing has always been fine. Not sure where I’m going wrong, but I’m tired of this.

i’m with ya Nspire. three tests in a row, i can’t break 29 math…wth

Do only some people have their writing scores?

Well good and bad news! Bad news is I got another 29 (3rd time), good news is that uconn superscores the ACT…So my “Super score” is as follows:
English: 29 (3rd time)
Math:30 (2nd time)
Reading: 34 (1st time)
Science: 29 (1st & 2nd time)
Composite: 31 (best of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time)

Well that had to suck. to me getting the same score twice getting me angry! But yeah I do the red book too and got like higher. But I trend to do the question faster when at home

the red book is an over estimator, in my opinion. I, too, did better on them…

@elhefe

Yes.

No writing scores here.

Wow, I freaking flipped out when I saw my score. I was always at a 32 in junior year. I took the ACT 3 times in junior. Scored 31 on my first, 32 on april act, then back to 31 on june act.

But after september, I scored:

C: 34
E: 34
M: 33
R: 31
S: 36
W: 10

I was freaking out when I saw this. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was at a 29 on Science all the time and suddenly it became a 36. This just goes to show that anything is possible. Study the Red Book, learn your mistakes, then study the Princeton Review course books.

If anyone has questions on the ACT or how to improve your score, let me know. I know that 34 isnt the BEST score out there, but I think I can help others.

True that. My reading and science each went up by 9, giving me a 34 also. Practice tests help for sure.

So has anyone gotten a 36 on reading. From what I’ve seen 35 is the highest anyone’s gotten

I mean English

@shrapnel, how many practice tests did you take for reading and science to increase 9 points?

To be honest my first science was sort of a fluke. The proctor didn’t give us any five minute warnings and I figured out I had 1 minute to do the last 6 questions which probably killed my score. I’ve probably taken about ten practice tests, but not all of them were helpful. Basically about a week before the actual test I started trying new strategies and my reading practice tests (took three in the last week) finally went up from 27-29’s to mid 30-34’s. Science went up a lot faster. I think the last 4 or 5 I took all had sciences of 34 or above, but I thought that I’d bombed this one. Apparently not.
