I took the ACT today with Writing (Dec 9th). I was planning on taking it again in February but I was wondering if I would receive my scores in the mail from this testing date before I had to register for the Feb. date (on January 5th).

Stupid ACT... That early viewing thing is only for US students... The ACT really screws over international test takers... I remember I took it the first week of April, and I got my scores by like mid June.

that's good. ACT needs to pick up the slack though - college board releases scores 3 weeks after for free inlcuding essay score and you get your score report in the mail within 4 weeks of the test, well for me. ACT - 4 to 7 weeks before you can see your essay... tha't ridiculous

The majority of ACT scores with writing hit the web and the mail three weeks after the test date (without writing it's ten days). The "to 7 weeks" part is for those who have issues that have to be resolved, like copying the match ID wrong from your admission slip, putting the wrong test code, or owing money. Of course, international testers are on a different schedule entirely, which has to account for international shipping of test materials back to ACT and then international mail, unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure SAT scores with writing don't come any faster, on average, than ACT writing, since they're scored by the exact same company.
