I guess I'll answer. I'm just ball parking, but I'm gonna say online scores (8$) come out two weeks after the test, free online scores come out four weeks after the test, and it comes in the mail after ~6 weeks, depending on where you live. These are all ball parked guesses, since I didn't really notice when I got mine.

From the ACT website:
Most scores are available online within 2 1/2 weeks after each national test date. Your scores are not reported any faster if you view them online. Score reports are usually mailed to your home within 4 to 7 weeks after each test date. If you took Writing, your score report will be mailed only after your Writing scores are available.

Check actstudent.org.

I took the June 10th ACT and my scores came out online about two and a half weeks later, the mailed ones came about a month later, and I'm still waiting on the return of my "test materials" (answer book, answer sheet, essay scan, etc.)

Non-writing scores start hitting the mail about 10 days after you test. Writing scores start about two weeks later.

Hey, Mrs. F. I see you are messing with the students again. LOL. Kids check her history using the search function. See anything interesting?

Wowser. That sounds so ...so official. Do you work for ACT? How are you so sure of the timetable this test administration? If you don't work there I'd say you are wrong and just guessing like the rest of us. ;) Nice to see you again.

I can read a postmark.

lololololol

if i take the ACT on september 16, would the score report make it to a college in time for the early decision deadline (November 1st)?

Yes, it would.

how about if i wait to see my score first then send the score report myself. Would the score report then make it in time for the early decision deadline?

If you're worried about it making it there on time, I think you can prioritize the report for a price - I could be wrong though.

You cannot expedite score reports if you request them when you register. You can pay extra for expedited reports after your scores are available, but I don't think they're worth it: they don't always get there faster, and some colleges don't even accept them.

Your reports will arrive fastest if you request them when you register. If you want to wait until you see your scores before deciding to send them, there is still enough time for that between the September test and the Nov. 1 deadline without paying extra for the expedited service.

Now just why in the world would Mrs. F be reading ACT postmarks? ;) You don't seem to be that interested in the rest of the college application process, do you? You have 249 posts and they are all about the ACT. That just seems so curious. ;) Oh, well . No biggie. At least you are here. Helping.

Does ACT know you are their front person on this site? First responder, so to speak? What a service you provide to them , and to all of us. That is , if you are right. Maybe you can shake a few shekels loose. Now if you do work there I think you are supposed to disclose your commercial interest by the TOS, but I'm not sure. ;) Again, thanks for sharing your expert opinion about all things ACT. I for one appreciate it.

You caught me, curmudgeon: In my position as Official ACT Postchaser, they pay me to fly around the country, intercepting your score reports as they fall from mailman fingers toward letterbox steel, clicking my stopwatch to capture the moment of delivery. When yours arrive, look for me waving from the bushes!

P.S. What's a shekel?

Um.. who really cares where she works? The fact that she's willing to help should tell you more important things about her character than where she works, whether she chooses to disclose it or not. Mrs. Ferguson, I personally am glad you are here and can provide accurate information. Don't let others berate for doing a good deed.
