Hi everyone :) Quick question: How do we know for sure if Yale has received our supplementary materials via mail? One recommendation that I sent in is integral to my application, and it'd be a shame if it was lost in the mail. The likelihood is that it wasn't, but as an anxious senior, I'd really like to know some way to get confirmation! (I tried emailing student.questions@yale.edu but have gotten no response in 2 weeks :() Thanks!

You could try calling. 203-432-9300 is the number they give on their website. I don’t know if they’d be able to answer your question, though, and I don’t think there’s a way to verify that online.

…pray? :/

What if you’re not religious? ):

Pray to as many gods as possible? One’s bound to be right.

^That’s not an assumption all of us are willing to believe.

I may or may not have been being facetious when I said that. It’s worth a shot, though, right?

^I’ll prey to Handsome Dan. That is a figure I am willing to believe in.

On the page for your Eli account, it says that they don’t keep track of additional materials. I’m also worried because I submitted a supplementary rec but have no idea if they got it or if they’ve read it.

Seems like there is nothing you can do since they don’t track such materials. As long as all your other mailed materials were received, I think it’s a safe bet that your supplementary rec is fine as well. Not a guarantee, but I don’t see what else to do.

Wish they would tell you why you were rejected. :-/
