-Not look retarded
-Not too expensive

I like North Face but unfortunately they all seem expensive

facepalm had you scrolled down a bit you would see a thread titled “Bookbags”

Indeed, yet I was not interested in a debate concerning whether or not a rolly backpack would make you a loser…

Is it a mac? Booq has backpacks for them that are high quality although you might pay more compared to others, it will last.

i’ve used a north face backpack since i was in 10th grade and it has lasted me VERY well. i have a jester, and it doesn’t come with a laptop sleeve, but you can very easily buy a $20 one somewhere and just use that, which is what i plan on doing.

get something by jansport if you want something that lasts long and doesn’t cost very much

North face for sure. They’re waterproof and extremely durable. Price wise- I got a $70 one for $30 brand new at Dicks. I asked for a price check and it came up for 29.99 instead of 69.99. Try ebay and amazon as well. Look out for sales and coupons at outdoor places like Dicks, if you look, you can find a north face that is affordable. They’ll last a couple of years so it’s worth spending an extra $20 for a north face. Plus, they’re great if you camp. I just bought a case for my mac to place in my backpack, but in reality I rarely transported my laptop around campus. I don’t think you really need a built in sleeve- a lot of the nicer backpacks don’t have them. I don’t know of any backpack companies that have built in sleeves.

I want to get this one but they are out of stock in the moonlight ivory.

Wearing backpacks that makes one “cool” also makes one a poser.

I’d recommend Jansport so you can complete the image.

LL Bean or Jansport

I would suggest Swiss gear backpacks. They usually have a compartment just for laptops and holding my 17 inch computer pretty well. I would highly recommend it just for the laptop. I think they might be a little expensive, but I think its well worth the price because they are so well made and durable.

+1 for the Swiss Gear backpacks. Great backpack for my laptop and it fits all my books and such too.

I have an HP brand laptop backpack that I like. I’ve been using it for three years now and it looks like new, it’s very padded and has lots of room, and it’s also very comfortable. Not sure how much it was, I think my dad got it at work.

Both of my kids have UnderArmor backpacks and are happy. I don’t know whether they are in your range.

i’ve had my ll bean one for eons and it’s never failed me

hmmmmm I really like this one:

what do you guys think

I like Dakine backpacks, great quality and I’m pretty sure they come with a lifetime warranty.

This North Face one has a laptop sleeve if you really want that still (and it’s not much pricier than their other options):
