Recommend a school in Boston please!

I am applying to a bunch of schools on the East Coast and would like to apply to at least one in Boston (that would actually give me a chance).

Here is my background:

I graduated HS in 1998, went to early college as a senior in HS. Due to family and personal reasons, I withdrew and my gpa plummeted to 1.56. I moved around a bit and worked in a lot of top worldwide law firms. I have 13 years experience.

I moved back to my home state of Utah to finish school, but I want to be back east again and eventually go to law school. I have previously lived in DC and Philadelphia.

During this year in college since I have returned, I have a 3.85 cum gpa (hopefully this will go up after fall as I will be in the range of 3.9 to 4.0). I will have an A.S. in General Studies from the cc I am attending currently.

I am planning on majoring in Finance and Philosophy. I plan to then go on to law school. I hope to go on and work for the SEC for a while after that.

I have counselor recommendations, great teacher recommendations and LOR's from top attorneys I have worked for. My essays are shaping to be pretty good as well, should be good with a couple more revisions.

Can you recommend any schools I should apply? And do I have any kind of chance at merit aid?

Thank you!

anyone please?

Northeastern looks like a perfect fit for you and maybe try boston college as a reach.

Suffolk University

As brahnema said, Northeastern sounds like a target with BC as a reach.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I am just trying to diversify a bit.

BU is a good target/safety - its in the heart of Boston with a decent School of Management. I would also put Tufts into your list for reach - very good school thats not in boston, but close enough to visit often.

Boston College has a special program for folks in your situation – adult going back to school. Many colleges have something similar, but if they don’t adcoms are always seeking people with a different story to tell. Might as well apply to the biggies in town. IMO, your life experience is much more important than your college grades. Thus, it’s impossible to say any schools is a reach/match/safety.

Dunno much about merit aid. Obviously, that ancient college in Cambridge has a gazillion dollars and the best need-based aid available.
