Recommend some colleges!

Hello!

I am a rising senior and I need your help finding some good colleges for me.

My stats are

3.58 Weighted GPA (don’t know UW not reported ) 1460 SAT, Two Subject Tests, 750 on Lit , 700 on Math2

I have amazing EC’s like organizing an TEDx event, part of the board for the attorney general and did several summer programs and leaders in clubs and part of our schools election based student council and much more

I transferred schools because of mental health issues however it didn’t help and it made it worse because the competition of the school + already things i have dealt with.

My essays is going to talk about how my family escaped persecution in a country and how that the contrast of the two perspectives one perspective rooted from the country I escaped and one about america made me aspire to be someone who can help those that was in the situation I was in. I don’t really care what school I go to but I would love to go to a school with a reputable international affairs program.

Home state? How much can your family afford? Potential major?

We are below the poverty line as of right now. Home state is OH and potential majors are international relations and political science and Econ

Are you close to any of the state schools so you could commute?

Ohio state is within commuter distance however I qualify for many of our schools diversity and specific club related scholarships

Diversity and club related scholarships are all well and good except they don’t tend to be large amounts and would probably only help in your freshman year of college. That would make it harder to continue at your chosen school. I’m not sure you could afford tOSU. They are the most expensive of the state schools. Look at the Financial Aid pages of some of the regional schools (Kent, Youngstown, etc) and run the Net Price Calculator. It should tell you how much the school will be taking into account your GPA and scores.

I’m not really looking at my state schools, def looking at LACs or any OOS schools

A number of OOS schools are public and funded by their state’s taxpayers, which means you would pay full OOS fees.

You may want to look at Alabama, but you need to check if you can afford housing.
Private LAC’s will be expensive and your GPA may not qualify you for the competitive schools.
