Recommendation books for SAT II and AP US History

I am an international student outside the US. As a result, I can easily get the Peterson’s, Kaplans, and Princeton Review for the US History (Both SAT II and AP). However, I find that everyone is praising the Direct Hits and the Amsco. I want to know the difference between these books and can it really give me an edge on the tests by using AMSCO and DH?

I used PR to raise my initial score from 660 to a 720 on the actual one. I think that if you have a good US history base that works fine, I just hadn’t had any USH since my freshman year. (I am in APUSH now) I really like my REA for APUSH, along with the crash course to study for tests.

For the AP exam, I really enjoyed the American Pageant…
Just my two cents

5 Steps to a 5 all the way. Kaplan is good, but 5 Steps is set up especially well.
