Recommendation letters lost in the mail TWICE and finally sent...am i screwed

all of my schools are going to finally receive my rec letters this week, does this mess me up with everything?

Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Cornell, Northwestern

all receive my rec letters this week

First time messed up up, then february had problems with weather, and it messed up up mailing again

It was finally sent. I contacted the schools about it. But since it's so late, does this mean that I'm screwed?

Uh, it doesn’t sound great. I think you should be sure to contact admissions at all of those schools and re-explain the situation. They might be more understanding if you do.

That doesn’t sound good at all. I would suggest writing an appeal letter AND contacting them each directly. It would have been find if you were in contact with the school during the entire situation. Good luck.

Does your GC have a good relationship with the rep at any of these schools? She needs to call to help explain what happened. Otherwise, I don’t think this looks good - they have probably already made their decisions and are in the process of getting everything ready for notifications.

It’s not great but I don’t think it will ruin you, so don’t panic just yet. Explain the situation to them. I had difficulty with mailing some of my stuff and after I contacted schools about it they were very kind and supportive.

How were the recs sent this time, were they faxed?

I’d suggest calling your schools or emailing them with a brief explanation and ask them to confirm receipt of those documents, just to really make sure they have it.

Good luck to you.
