bump!!!!!!!!

usually the teachers send them themselves... Students should not send the teacher recommendations...

i know, but is it okay if i send them myself? Will it hurt me?

Thanks

Why do you want to send the recommendations with your application, rather than having the teachers send them directly?

Put yourself in the college administrator's shoes: do you want to read letters of recommendation which have been seen and 'approved' by the applicant? Or do you want to see the teacher's pure response?

If you are not confident that the teacher is writing a positive recommendation, perhaps that is not the right teacher.

Bottom line: yes, you can submit a teacher's recommendation with your application, but it is generally not as valued as a recommendation which comes in without having been reviewed by the student

French.... I contacted about 12 schools....all except UVa said that the recs could be sent in by the applicant as long as they were in sealed envelopes and signed by the teacher along the sealed flap. UVa wanted it to be sent in by the guidance counselors. Somehow, recs seem not to be that much of a deal to many schools....
