So on the UVA website it states that "a letter of recommendation from the secondary school is required and a recommendation from a teacher is recommended." Ok, so the first one comes from the guidance counselor...Does that mean that they want only one recommendation from a teacher? I am asking because I have already asked one of my teachers. Actually she offered before I could ask..but then everyone started offering as well. Ok, not everyone, but the sponsor of one of my volunteer organizations offered one, and one of my teachers from 9th grade even, and another teacher..and I was even thinking of asking my employer. So, I have one teacher who will write one right now. I want my recommendations to be written as soon as possible because I know how many students wait till it's too late to ask for a strong recommendation. So any advice? What should I do? How many should I send? Oh, plus the one who is already starting it wants to send it by mail but I am doing the online version. I know it's ok but it really does get there and they really have it when the deans are looking at my profile...right? Ok, thanks.

If you follow the directions on the recommendation page, I promise that we'll see those letters!

Thanks, Dean J. What is your recommendation regarding the number of recommendations? (Hehe)

Could you give a link to the recommendation page?

I printed out the paper application & it says one teacher recommendation is recommended, 1 GC recommendation is required, but no form for the teacher recommendation is given, correct? So, the teacher literally just sends "a letter" to UVa?

well i think they might prefer online now. so you have to submit your teachers email address and then the teacher will receive a link from the UVA with their user name and password where they could attach (i think) the word file for the recommendation and submit it back to uva with out any papers

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not applying online..?
