Recommendation Letters?

I was wondering, if you wanted to send in a supplementary letter to MIT, is there anything you need to do in particular for it? And what if you wanted to send 2 supplementary recommendation letters? Is that all right? I believe that they both will cover different aspects of me that aren't covered in the application very clearly (I sorta feel that this particular application neglects certain questions compared to other high-end university applications) that I want to convey. Good idea? Or bad idea because it gives them too much to read?

If you really think that you need 2 supplemental letters, sure - you can send them in.

MIT doesn't require a specific form. Just make sure that you (or have your recommender) include your name and date of birth clearly on top of each piece of paper/letter they sent in.

Extra recommendations. If you feel an extra recommendation would show an important additional side of you not already covered, you may send in an additional letter of recommendation. This in general would not need to be on an MIT recommendation form from the application; a separate sheet of paper is most common. In general, third recommendations from a teachers do not provide much additional insight; the most helpful supplemental recommendations come from people who know you well outside the classroom. Some helpful extra recommendations I've seen have come from research mentors, youth group leaders, coaches, and bosses. If you decide a third recommendation is necessary, have your recommender send this via US Mail to MIT Admissions, and be sure your full name and date of birth are included.

if i send a music supplement to auditions@mit.edu/email,
does that letter get read by the adcoms or the music department?

if it is only read by the music dept. could I send that rec to the adcoms as well? my letter has stuff on my academic and personal qualities as well, not just musical talents.

^^^^^^^ dos option correcto.
