Is it okay to ask my ninth grade teacher to write one for me? Do teachers have to be from my junior senior year? When my teachers are done writing it, can I take them home and make photo copies so that I can use the same rec. letters for different colleges?

You absolutely can not take photocopies of the recommendation letter. You should waive your right to read them and give your teacher envelopes, already stamped and addressed, so they he or may can just place them in the mail.

James: some colleges don’t need as much security. Often, the student can just append the LOR to the college’s form, and have the teacher sign the form and send it in.

OP for more guidance re: LORs, speak w/your guidance counselor.
