<p>I'm pretty sure there's a separate counselor recommendation. A counselor doesn't know how you are as a student in class, so I think that you should have a teacher fill out that recommendation.</p>
<p>Pages 5,6,7,8 under item B on the Common App. They are called the School Report and MidYear Report. Your counselor should complete the School Report now and the MidYear Report later.</p>
<p>By faculty member, they might have mean't a teacher that doesn't teach you but knows you well. They have a separate counselor recommendation form.</p>
<p>I had two teachers do the teacher form and send letters, and my counselor fill out the counselor recommendation form. And of course, I called to make sure everything was completed correctly.</p>

<p>I think you're only supposed to have one recommendation. But it wouldn't hurt to have two, if you know that both of the recs will be good.</p>
