hi guys
i have some questions about recommendation letters here.
Does the title of the teacher who write the letter matter?
I'v already got both 800 on my SAT Math and SAT II Math,so will it be too much if i ask my math teacher to wrote me a recommendation?

I also got 800 on math and math II and asked my math teacher for a recommendation letter. Rec letters convey completely different information than test scores.

wula: from your question, it appears you don’t understand the purpose of rec letters. They aren’t to confirm an area of academic achievement (your grades and test scores do that). Their purpose is to give a narrative of the type of person you are: inquisitive? boorish? snob? helpful? genuine? sly/crafty? does the minimum? Hopefully you’ll get good adjectives.

These things do not come across in your grades/scores.

well I’m just afraid that if I ask a Math teacher to write a rec, it will look like that I only do well in Math Class and leave a good impression to my Math teacher.Maybe I’m too naive.haha

But your transcript shows if you’re strong in a certain class, you don’t need a recommendation from a teacher to verify it. So if your transcript looks good, then regardless of who you use as your recommender, you won’t come off as if you’re only good at a certain subject.
