I asked a my Pre- Calc and BC Calc teacher to write me a rec. She considers me to be one of the best students she ever had. However, when i asked her for a rec she said that she wants an activity sheet and a guidance counselour rec. She also said that I have to get it to her by tomorrow b/c she already has like 15 to do. I decided that I am better off not asking her to write me a rec. Any opinions?

My opinions:
1. You waited way too long to ask for a teacher recommendation.
2. Your teacher made a reasonable request (you're lucky she's still willing to write you a recommendation since she already has so many she's promised to do).
3. You're willing to give up an excellent recommendation because you're too lazy to get the information together tonight.

Honestly, by saying she has so many, I picked up on her not really wanting to do it. It's not a big deal, one teacher is already writing me one and I have another who would gladly write me a high quality recommendation

Of course I only know the situation from this thread, but I wouldn't take saying she has too many as a sign she did not want to do it. I have heard teachers turn down students they would love to write recs for because the student asked too late and the teacher had too many. I have also heard of teachers saying no because the teacher did not have EVERYTHING needed for the rec before 1 June of junior year. In neither case was it a reflection on the will to do the rec for someone.
