Recommendation Waiver

I have checked the recommendation waiver in the Common App. My teacher has sent me a copy of her recommendation; am I allowed to view it?

Thank you

That is between you and your teacher. You waived the right to view it so you cannot make that request only.

But I thought we can view our recommendations. ??

If you waived your right to see the rec, you can’t demand it. If the teacher wants to give it to you anyway, there’s nothing wrong with looking at it.

No, you are not allowed to view the rec through the common app, regardless of what you checked on the FERPA waiver. The FERPA waiver is not relate to your ability to see teacher recommendations in the common app process. The only way you’ll see them at this point is if the teacher voluntarily elects to provide you with a copy. The waiver relates to your right to see the recs in your admissions file after you matriculate to a school.
