Recommendations -- does it have to be a teacher?

Does it have to be a teacher or a counselor? Could it be the manager at work or the coordinator for my youth project?

(Like would 2 teachers and 1 manager/coordinator be okay or do they all have to be teachers/counselors?)

does anyone know?

The combination of 2 teachers and 1 manager is completely fine. The manager recommendation might shine a completely different light on your personality.

When they say that the institution’ll take up to “3 recommendations” do you know if they mean 3 recommendations INCLUDING the guidance counselor’s or 3 recommendations IN ADDITION to the guidance counselors?

are you positive?
even for common app?
does the college have to specify that it allows non-teachers as well?

Usually you don’t have to do a counselor. Just math/science and english/language. (From what I’ve heard). You might want to check with the college though. I know QuestBridge requires a counselor for their College Match program. It’s 3 recommendations INCLUDING a counselor though.

and how do you know if a college accepts supplemental recommendations or not?
because there’s only an option for teacher/counselor.

Like brown accepts 2 additional recommendations than the usual 2 required ones, but the options are still teacher/counselor?

should employer recommendations have their own letterhead or should i submit it through the commonapp form or just as a letter separately?
