<p>I'm looking at Windows laptops, but I really have NO idea what specs to be looking for. GB, RAM/ROM, Gigahertz or whatever...</p>
<p>I'd just like some idea with the holiday sales and such and so many different laptops out there.</p>
<p>I usually look for:
RAM - 2x2gb or 1x4 and buy another 4gb ram(these dont cost very much… u save alot if u get them on amazon or newegg) if u 2x4 youll need 64bit, not 32. Stay away from uneven sticks like 1+2 or 1+3</p>
<p>HDD - 320-500gb should be more than enough</p>
<p>Processor - around 1.8-2.1GHz, you wont really notice a difference</p>
<p>About the graphics card, im not sure if you’ll need a good one for graphic intensive programs, but if you do, just compare the online benchmarks to see which is better</p>
<p>You can swap parts for the first two, not so much for the second two tho</p>
