The Stanford websites says that two recs are required from two different subject areas. Question: it says that I can choose from math, science, English, etc... but can I ask a rec from a science and a math teacher or should I also ask a rec from a humanities teacher?

Math and science should be fine... They're two different subject areas. Or you could go with the humanities teacher if you're comfortable with that and want some "variety" or whatnot. It's really up to you. Pick the two that would give you the best recommendations.

hmm, don't know why this was moved to the stanford forum... it was supposed to be a general question for all schools. But anywho, thanks luckystars.

No problema =)

Hey, um, I actually have 3 teacher recommendations to choose from.

Two of them are done over the internet, and one has already been sent via snailmail.

If I happen to select on commonapp.org the two internet as the ones for Stanford, then what happens when they receive all 3 recs? Do they read all 3 or do they pick the 2 I selected?
