Red Brick Housing Specifics/FAQ

I just received my housing assignment at Cal Poly and I’m going into the Red Bricks. I bought a trunk from Campus Market in order to keep my valuables (laptop, wallet, ect.) safe. Am I able to move the dressers that are under the bed in order to make room for the trunk?
That’s all the questions I have for now

if you have enough room, and you’re not encroaching onto/into your roommates space. I’d say yes! You can’t remove any furniture, but there’s no where where it says you can’t rearrange what they give you. Apart from bed risers. It does say no risers. My son will be in a double in Yosemite.

I hear you can rearrange it. I was thinking of putting the trunk under the bed. It would fit under the bed if I move one of those dressers somewhere like next to the mini-fridge (out of the way).

I have a triple

Having seen those rooms, I will tell you I don’t think there is any way to be moving furniture around. There is no “next to the mini fridge”. In my kid’s room, the fridge was squeezed in between the wardrobe and the desk that is beneath the single bunk bed with the double bunk across the room. You can apparently find all room and furniture dimensions online at the Cal Poly site.

No worries. I’m not bringing it. I found a good place to keep my valuable safe

Rearranging the furniture is totally allowed. Someone either on here or some other page was recommending an L shaped configuration for the red brick rooms. This means moving the beds against two adjoining walls so that they form an L. I think this helps create some floor space, or at least make the floor area seem a little bigger, since you have the beds only on one side.

Which would also result in a bunk bed across the window…

If you put the lofted bed with the desk under it by the window, it’s probably not too bad.

Lofted bed with two desks under flush up to the window side wall on one side with a upper and lower bunk mid wall on the other side with the third desk at the end of the beds on the window side. Two sets of drawers go under the lower bunk which is really a mid height bunk.
