<p>I’m starting to look into getting things for my dorm room, but I can’t seem to find a list of everything Cal Poly doesn’t allow in dorm rooms.
I’ve found articles in various handbooks that state the obvious- you can’t bring open hot plates and candles and that sort of thing- but I am looking into items such as bed risers, closet organizers, curtains…the sort of organizational/decor items.
Anyone know where I can find a list? Or if someone who actually goes to Cal Poly could just tell me…that would be cool too.

<p>Bed risers are not allowed. They wouldn’t care about closet organizers (but I know even a small shoe organizer won’t fit in my son’s closet). They have drapes in the rooms (so I’m sure you won’t be able to exchange them for curtains, but I haven’t seen anything written about it). Don’t make holes in the walls - my son & his roommates use painters tape to hold up their posters/etc. </p>
