I just submitted my application to The Honors College at Miami Dade last sunday. It was the last day to so but I figured since I had already sent my test scores electronically a week earlier and personally hand delivered my high school transcripts to the college that I would have no issues. I was wrong.

Immediately after submitting my essay and personal statement (the last thing I needed) I was sent to a page which explained to me that my application file would not be complete until they received my test scores and high school transcripts.

The Honors College clearly states on their website that there is no exception for turning in documentation late.

Did I just get screwed/screw myself over?

Test scores sent electronically take longer than a week to send - you should have planned ahead. Normally schools are lenient about late documentation because they know you’re not 100% in control of their timeliness, but in this case it looks like the college specifically forbid late documentation. You can email or call to tell them about your circumstances, but if they truly are “no exception”, then your application will be incomplete.

It would seem like you are not eligible, but read closely–there are some schools that will consider an application complete even if they are waiting on test scores/letters. Call them and ask in the morning to get an answer.

This is really far after the fact, but as I’m finishing up my AA at The Honors College at MDC and browsing CC as a prospective transfer student I just wanted to mention that I got in and that this school changed my life.
Thanks for the update. I’m glad it turned out so well for you.
