Reduced tuition for out-of-state students?

I’ve heard that students from Georgia might be able to get in-state tuition at Auburn. I’ve tried to find information about this but there’s nothing conclusive.

Fact or fiction?

It was true a number of years ago. At that time, all you had to do was stay in Alabama for one continuous year, register to vote, and get a driver’s license. That pretty much ended. There are scholarships available for non-residents and you need to check them. They are not as good as the Hope, but they can keep the situation from being hopeless. Also, living off campus is less expensive than living on-campus and rent is a bunch lower than it would be in Atlanta (and, I suspect, Athens). Also, if the parent who provides your primary support lives in Alabama, that might give you a pass.
