I’m applying RD. Poli Sci/Int. Relations and Math.

A lot of you guys are talking about “international relations.” We do not have an international relations program here at Reed. It would be unwise of you to bring up that you want to be an international relations major in your interview and/or essay.

We do have international and comparative policy studies, however. With this program, you’re essentially studying political science, economics, and history, but with a central allied field (either econ, history, poli sci, or sociology). You have to petition to be accepted into this program sophomore year and your qual and thesis experiences are hellish.

One of you mentioned doing international relations and math. You cannot do this, for two reasons: again, no international relations, and if you were to do ICPS, your second field of interest would need to be related. You could do ICPS-Econ (like me!) or econ/math. Interdisciplinary proposals usually get shot down. Even a friend of mine that wanted to do anthro/linguistics was told that it was too crazy.

Read up on the ICPS program though, it’s a fun one (of course, I’m biased).

RD, psychology. Ah I probably won’t get in though :P

I’m applying RD, probably envisci or anthro. not so hot on having to spend 2 yrs @ duke though…it’s exciting to see all these international applicants!

My son is! ED Psych.

momma flamingo,
My daughter was ED last year and is enjoying her first year. Loves the psych dept. Good luck to your son!

Should say: My son has applied ED psych and we are eagerly awaiting the decision on 12/15! Portland is far from PA, but Reed is his dream school!

I am. Rd art major, had a really fun interview.

RD - general lit. or linguistics, or something of that sort.

I was wondering how much fin. aid Reed awards its students. I’m a Canadian student, and Reed encourages Canadians to apply, as the financial aid situation differs from those of international applicants. My family’s income will be less then 80k (Canadian) because my mom just got laid off. Cam anyone ballpark much do they expect us to contribute to the 50 000?

There is an EFC calculator floating around the internets, but it’s hard with international applicants.

RD here, Physics major.

^^ Same :P

haha no way really?

good to see another physics major is out there!

So when do Reed decisions come usually? March end?

[Admission Office ~ Freshman Application Process and Timeline](http://www.reed.edu/apply/applying_to_reed/processes.html) says “late March.”

I’m getting my decision on Monday! I’m terrified.

Anyhoo, I’m applying ED II, probably going to major in art. Maybe english.

Im applying RD… science major. Either chemistry or biology.
I also want to learn Spanish, but I don’t think i’ll major in it!

Desperately seeking Reed! Major in History.

Going to sleep over on the campus next week! Hoorah!

RD- Chemistry major!!!
