<p>I'm an international student applying from England. Can somebody explain how references are sent to unis using common application and those who do not use the common application? Is it similar to the UCAS system that we use in England?</p>

<p>They can just be mailed directly to the colleges. Have the author sign his/her name across the back flap.</p>

<p>post 3: yes (check the college’s webpage: they may have a downloadable recommendation template or supplement. Your teacher can use it or just staple their rec to each of them)</p>
