"Referred to March File Review"

<p>I applied to the University of Oregon. For the last couple of days it has said my app was under review. Today I check and it say "Referred to March File Review". What does this mean? Do I have to wait till March for a decision after I applied in October for early notification by Dec. 15?</p>

<p>It's just a different way of deferral. Your application is not strong enough to be outright accepted, so they need to wait until other applicants apply to compare you with them.</p>
