Does anyone know if the school has a service to rent a microfridge or refrigerator for the dorm? I can't seem to find the information anywhere on the website and I don't think they talked about it at Preview.

Yes. Campus Coolers, a privately owned rental company and authorized university vendor, rents refrigerators to on-campus residents.
But I was able to find a nice sized fridge (4.5 cu ft, I think) with a stainless front at WalMart for around $100, and a perfectly good microwave for about $50… It’s nothing fancy, but is full size and has adequate power (not one of those tiny ones). If I remember correctly, there was a sale right before school started. All the prices dropped, and I decided it wasn’t worth renting when the prices were so good. Good luck to you at Florida!

We got a flyer in the mail about refrigerator rentals’ seems like it came about a month before school started. I might not have the name of the company right, since it’s been a couple of years, but you should get a flyer soon.

how can you rent a mini fridge from Campus Coolers? I can’t seem to find a number, e-mail, or website online?

I couldn’t find any info either. My daughter’s roommates mom told me that she asked at orientation and there is no rental company that does this and purchasing a refrigerator and microwave is the only option

The number for refrigerator rentals is 352-575-0064 . I texted them and got a response pretty quickly - great refrigerator with separate door for freezer. Supposedly frost free - so far so good. Delivery was prompt and they carried to my daughter’s room. It was used - in decent shape, but most importantly is working well - we didn’t expect a new one. Don’t remember the exact rate but I thought it was a great deal - we already have two small fridges at home but they frost up and I don’t want the hassle of taking it to UF. I like the fridge rental concept much better - let someone else worry about getting up and down the stairs and what to do with after she moves out of University of Florida housing.
We bought one for around $100, Home Depot I think. He and his roommate wanted one so no splitting costs. If we don’t want it after two semesters we’ll offer it for free to some summer student.
