Refund out of state fees

Hello guys,

This is my first time posting, and I just had a quick question. I just completed my undergraduate studies at my university, and I have paid out of state fees the whole way; I don’t live with my parents. I just recently learned that I was eligible (from an admissions advisor) for an out of state tuition waiver, under Florida Statute 1009.26, or something like that. Do you guys think I can get a refund for the out of state portion of the tuition up until now, or if the waiver would only be applied for future semesters?

Do you meet these requirements?

Yes, I do

I doubt if they will refund you the difference.

Certainly call the school and ask – but I’d be surprised if they refunded money.

In most cases, you need to apply to get in-state tuition rate if approved. Even if you are eligible but do not apply, they owe you nothing. The in-state rate would be effective after the approval. So don’t count on them give your the lower rate retroactively.
