Tuition

Hello Everyone,

I am a current graduate student at UCF in the Higher Education/Student Personnel program.

I recently moved to Florida, and on my application I indicated that I was an out of state student. I figured I would take classes part time for the time being and declare myself as a Florida resident. After a year I would begin taking classes full time and finish up my degree.

However when I went to pay my bill this semester, I was charged in-state tuition rates. Under my fee invoice it says "You have been classified as a Florida resident for tuition purposes". Now this is great for me, however it scares me that it might catch up with me. Could down the road, UCF realize their mistake and later charge me the money that would have been charged had I been classified as an out of state student? Also, what are the odds of this happening?

Thanks for any advice..

Maybe you got a tuition waiver. Me, myself I wouldn't worry about it.

Ask them! They may have more lenient in-state residency rules than some other states.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Look at it this way; even if they do send you a bill later for the difference, you'd be in the same boat as you would if they charged you the correct tuition right away.
