Hello all,

I have a few questions regarding portions of the eFAN. Some of these questions are shared by other students that I know as well, so I will put them together in one thread.

1.) If I put "undecided" on any portion of the eFAN now (e.g. the loans, work-study), could I accept it later?

2.) I have outside scholarships. Since they still need to be sent in, and the eFAN won't be changed to reflect those scholarship amounts until a certain period afterwards (5-10 business days), should I accept the loans and work-study or leave them as "undecided"? This question is mainly important because I don't know whether my outside scholarships will reduce or rid my loans and work-study altogether yet, so I'm not sure what I should do about them.

3.) Does accepting or declining any portion of the eFAN affect those same portions in my financial aid for next year, and the years afterward?

4.) When is the last day to submit my eFAN responses?

Thank you, and I will update this thread if there are any more questions!

Is the eFan out yet? How did you access it?

Yes! Access it on your URSA account: https://www.ursa.ucla.edu/ (“View eFAN and Financial Aid Awards on MyFAO”).

As far as this figure from the Internet can attest-

1.) If I put “undecided” on any portion of the eFAN now (e.g. the loans, work-study), could I accept it later?
Yes, you can generate a new eFAN to officially accept or decline loans.
As far as work-study is concerned, just accept it. It won’t harm you accepting it. Don’t find a job? Whatever. Find a job? Cool, apply work-study to it.

2.) I have outside scholarships. Since they still need to be sent in, and the eFAN won’t be changed to reflect those scholarship amounts until a certain period afterwards (5-10 business days), should I accept the loans and work-study or leave them as “undecided”? This question is mainly important because I don’t know whether my outside scholarships will reduce or rid my loans and work-study altogether yet, so I’m not sure what I should do about them.
Accept work-study. Leave as undecided loans.

3.) Does accepting or declining any portion of the eFAN affect those same portions in my financial aid for next year, and the years afterward?
My guess is no, unless its a scholarship that you can renew. But right… why wouldn’t somebody accept those?

4.) When is the last day to submit my eFAN responses?
Dunno.

So confused, why did Efan group all the federal aids including Cal Grant into “Scholarship Recognition award”? It was so nicely organized before, so we could see where each cent came from.
