Regarding Undergrad International New Student Admission

Dear Buddies , I would like to know how far UPITT is the best for Medicine Desire Student with Enroll as Biological Science as Major in Uni. Of Pittsburgh ? My son get and admission in UPITT and UCONN . I am as International Student an Indian. How it is much better for him? My Nephew Already desire to be Dr . So which Uni has better chances and what is the ration of success to enter in Medicine from PITTS and Uconn ? Thank you

Both schools have fine undergraduate programs. I know many premeds at Pitt.

That said, the path for an international student to medical school is much much different. US medical schools only admit a very small number of international students.

Both universities are fine for pre-med, but getting an admission to a US medical school is next to impossible for an international student.

Only 129 internationals matriculated into all US med school combined last year and vast majority of those who did were Canadians.

Beside facing long odds in admissions, international students must prove they can pay for their medical education BEFORE they are allowed to enroll. Internationals need to present either a letter guarantee of payment from their home country’s government or their family needs to deposit the full COA for up 4 years of med school (US$350,000- $500,000) in escrow account in a US bank.

There is little grant aid for medical school for US students and virtually none for internationals.

Thank you All
