Regent's and Chancellor's Scholarship- Financial need

Hi all,

First post here.

How does the financial aid office determine how much gift it awards to regent and chancellor's scholars? According to the website, the "Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarships cover the full financial need minus any entitlements such as Pell or Cal Grant, or outside agency scholarships such as Corporate National Merit Scholarships."

But, last year, my EFC was 19,870 and the financial aid office determined that my net cost would be $19,870 and thus giving me less scholarship money. This is not a huge difference, but this coming year, my EFC is $11,811.00 and the financial aid office stated that my net cost would be $13,437.00 and thus awarding me more than $1000 less in scholarship.

Does any other rcsa scholar experience this discrepancy?

(I am trying to contact the financial aid office and will keep this post updated.)
