Isn't that right? a lot of my friend who transfered to Cal or UCLA told me that when they received the Regents Scholarship, they did not do ANYTHING. They got into UCLA, got an email at the end of April saying that they were the winners, and will earn a couple thousand dollars a year.
I dont know what these email invitations are all about! I have a 4.0 and wrote an outstanding personal statement. But never got an email from Cal or UCLA :( this is sadddddd T_T my major isnt all that competitive. I guess I dont have a single chance of getting a scholarship from any UCs I applied for.. will all my hard work will result in misery?? haha

There’s the source of confusion.

what? ???

they look for well-rounded people. your e.c.'s probably just suck

yeap. well rounded people. i think. don’t stress it though. i didn’t get an invite from Cal, and im still alive. (:

i actually had more than 8 extra credit activities which includes intern, volunteer and many leadership roles that i did for the past 3 years. that was the only reason why i posted a thread like this becuase it seemed mysterious that i didnt get any email. i thought i deserved this scholarship as much as other’s do but i guess not!! lol. so i do not have a “sucky” e.c.

No I have a lot of them… I usually never start a thread unless I am REALLY confused.

thanks pinkprincess!!! i hope u get one soon!!
