No idea. It's a brand new program. It sounds like a cool opportunity.

If it's anything like the undergrad research programs, then it's very easy.

Your PI/leading professor just asks you to submit a thesis and writ of intention before beginning your research. For Econ, for example, I would submit a thesis regarding Game Theory decision-making under a certain construction and why I'm interested in the results of this study.

The faculty knows you're new to research, so it's very introductory in the way it's presented to you.

does anybody know when does the research for freshmen actually begins (as soon as school starts, before, in the middle of fall quarter, etc.)?

I don't know the answer to anyone's question, but I wish this was around when I was a freshman... :/

were you contacted by any current regents scholar during april? you should try to contact them to answer your q's, if possible.

no current scholar contacted me in april. were they supposed to talk to me about research?

hmm...well, a couple of my friends got the regents scholar thing and they said they got emails...that's weird...
i don't think the emails were specifically about research...they were more about the regents scholar program as a whole
