I’m a sophomore from NY and I have been wondering if colleges really look at regents score. I’ve done very well in school and on national tests, but I usually get 80s on the regents, except for my 95 in global. Also, are NY colleges the only colleges that actually see my regents scores.
Thanks for any feedback!
Only SUNY schools see your regents scores as far as I know
A few comments:
–First you should ask your guidance counselor at some point what goes on the transcript sent by your HS to colleges. Our HS only sends the final grade for each course. Admission officers from every college will see whatever your HS chooses to include on the transcript.
–At some high schools the Regents counts as the final exam for the course so then colleges may look at the scores in that capacity.
–Regents are only given in NYS so most applicants do not submit Regents exams. From what I’ve read elsewhere on CC it seems that SUNY schools do pay attention to Regents grades.
Here is a recent post on the same topic with some answers.

I think just SUNY schools but I certainly hope that all admissions offices understand that NYS Ed. has been playing games with student’s and the ever changing, manipulative, recently unfair regents scores. We never know what the state will throw at the students and they’ve become a Common Core game implementation rather than an achievement test. What was once a test to equalize all schools in NYS has become a game of “got 'cha!”.
I think about the kids who can’t even pass them to graduate and probably give up. Very sad.
