Regional Discrimination?

I Am From South Texas And I Have Heard That The More Selective Schools Recruit Most Of The Minorities (in This Case Hispanics) From Certain Parts Of The Us. Is This True, And If It Is, Does It Hurt My Chances Not Being A Minority.

It is quite accepted and acceptable to capitalize only the first word of every sentence and proper nouns.

i dont think there's much regional discrimination with URMs

Ditto to what electronicerror said!

Hrm. I've Never Heard That Before. Where Did You Hear That?

:-D

the computer automatically does that if you type in caps lock

ivyboy05- my college counselor told me this though i thought it was unlikely

I doubt it.

what if i'm from Missouri?
they only admitted 14 people from MO to upenn last year

is that a disadvantage, regardless of URM (i'm an asian btw)

It depends on the number of people from MO who applied last year. If 14 people did, then it's probably an advantage. If 50,000 did, then it's probably a disadvantage.

does anyone know where I can find how many Missourians applied to upenn last year?

Regional discrimination? How bout them Regional advantagation (aghhhh sorry, lack of better work so I made one up... it's too early during spring break to do this...) for PENNSYLVANIANS!!

oo i hope there's an advantage for pennsylvanians...

there's a big advantage for north and south carolinians at Duke (40% admit as opposed to 24% or so elsewhere)

I don't think that the PA stats are much higher in terms of acceptance or even higher at all if I remember seeing something correctly

Electronicerror and thethoughtprocess, where'dja get them social skills??? Nice...

better for ED was what i meant.

yea... what's that about, with the capitalizations...

I Love Capitalization!

I don't think that Pennsylvanians get an advantage.... but I know that Philadelphians get a huge advantage.

I'm Philadelphian, and a member of the class of 2009. woot.

What about missourians???
