Is there a limit to the number of people the regional reps can place an accept recommendation on? I mean if they finish going through 3000 apps and realise they’ve already recommended 1400 guys, do they become more stringent for the next 1000? Or do they just continue recommending based on old criteria and leave it to the commmittee to filter it out?

I didn't know that the adcoms make accept recommendations. I thought they just pick several students that they like and argue about it in committee.

i'm sure when they start they make note of the number of applicants.

other than that, nobody here probably knows.

omg i just looked at that list of regional representatives and mine is the dean of admissions (stetson) himself. aaahhhh. idk how i did not notice that before. i totally looked at that list already. i'm amazed that i could possibly become more stressed.

The adcoms probably go through the pile several times.

Sort out the obvious acceptances and rejections first, and then keep filtering multiple more rounds when they have a good picture of their pool.

An interesting piece of statistics would be acceptance breakdown by the position in the applicant pile.
