I'm looking into Regis College. I know that it is Catholic, but my preference is something non-denominational. I was wondering if it very religiously oriented and if the students are mostly Christian. Any information on academics, particularly in the English and history departments, would be useful, too.

Regis is Jesuit and therefore more open and less conservative in its adherence to Catholicism. It is fairly consistent to find that religion classes are a part of core curriculum at Catholic affiliated colleges but those requirements can generally be met through a variety of classes which are historical or ethically based. The schools aren’t out to convert as a part of their mission but since so much of world history over the last 2000 is inexorably linked to Christianity, a liberal arts education is incomplete without at least becoming versed in the historical relevance of faith.

Regis also has a larger non-traditional student body than you will find in your average private ug institution.

I am sure you can find the statistics you are looking for on their website. Good luck!

Thank you SO much! I have absolutely no problem with taking several classes on theology, I just didn’t want a conservative and anti-gay student body. I’ll definitely look into it. Thanks again!
