Hello. According to SDSU's Business website, a TRANSFER student must declare and be accepted into the upper division major before taking upper division classes. But it requires the degree audit that you receive during transfer student orientation to declare this, and you're supposed to register at orientation as well. Does this mean that you can only register for the 9 units of general Ed required for the first semester? Or is it bypassed somehow? I'm confused as to how I'm going to get started with my first semester of junior year as a business major if I miss out on registering for the upper division classes I need. Please provide any information you can to help! Thank you.

That’s just for admission purposes. All transfer students are listed as pre-major. Because they wont know what your final grades are until you send in your last transcript.

If you have over 60 credits, and have the 9 business major units done, after you meet advisors for orientation you should be able to sign up for upper division.

Each major is different but the process is on the business major website:
[Undergraduate Business Program : SDSU College of Business Administration](http://cbaweb.sdsu.edu/undergrad/admissions#qualify)

In summary: Just pass your classes in spring and everything will be explained in orientation over the summer.

Okay thank you. I just thought it was an automatic process and not one that required me to bring in the paperwork during a certain time frame. Thank you so much.

Just don’t forget to pre-pay for your classes before orientation if you don’t get a financial aid waiver.
