Hey there,

I'm applying to MIT (ahem, wish me luck xP), and thus I need to take the SAT and 2 subject SATs (math and a science). These need to be taken on January. The problem is that College Board only offers one testing date in January (the 25th), but one cannot take the SAT and the SAT subject tests on the same date. Any suggestions about what to do about this? Would contacting them about this possibly work? Thanks!

Are applying for Fall 2014? If so, then you can only either take SATI or SATII because January is the last test they will receive in time.

Correct. I’m applying to MIT for Fall 2014. Since the January testing date is the last test they will receive in time, I’m in a bit of a pickle. I need to take both the SAT and 2 SAT subject tests in January. Do you think contacting the College Board folks might provide a solution? E.g., would it, perhaps, be possible to take the SAT on Saturday, and the subjects tests on Sunday (without having to convert to Judaism)?

I doubt anyone knows if this is in fact possible, but I’m just looking for possible suggestions (or perhaps some input from those who’ve had a similar experience).

I was in a similar situation for this December test. I wanted to retake a subject test but also needed to take my SATs again. I contacted collegeboard and they told me I had to choose which one I wanted to do, so I just chose taking the SAT I. I highly doubt there is any way around this at all, but it doesn’t hurt to try and call. You’re in a difficult situation and I wish you took one of the two tests earlier so you weren’t in such a time converged situation. Good luck though, friend!

Thanks for basically clarifying this xP
I dug a little deeper, and College Board seems to be pretty firm that you can’t take a test on Sunday if you’ve done one on the preceding Saturday. I took the SAT earlier this year when I was in 11th grade, so I didn’t get an exactly stellar score (2060). I’ll post a question on the MIT thread. Anyways, thanks again!

When applying to MIT you don’t need to submit the SAT score if you submit either the ACT or the TOEFL (in case you are an international student).
