Registration Question

I have to register for classes tomorrow morning, and had two quick questions about classes.

Is it better to take introduction to microeconomics or intro to macroeconomics first? I'm leaning towards micro.

I am a Peabody student, but am considering a double major in Econ. Peabody only requires Math 140, but Econ recommends two semesters of calc, so I was consisting taking math 150A. Is math and Econ going to be very rigorous first semester, or is it manageable? I don't wanna completely overwhelm myself!

Thanks!

Macro is a prereq for Micro, so your question is answered for you. There is no Vandy reason to take 150 versus 140 if you will never take a higher calc course, but some employers may look down on “survey of calculus”.

Thanks for the reply @SurvivorFan‌ !
Are you positive that macro is a pre req for micro? I haven’t been able to find that information anywhere. Also, do you have any insight into how difficult math 150 is? Is it reasonable to take at the same time as Econ?

@ohheythere4‌ If you look up the description of your classes on your YES account , you will find that for micro you need to take macro first. Just click in the courses in your cart for that information.

It is certainly reasonable and quite normal to take Calculus (150 or 155) and Econ at the same time.
