At other colleges on CC , once a student has gone to orientation and registered for classes they are able to "tweek" (drop/add classes) their schedule throughout the summer. From what has been posted here it doesn't sound like it works like that at GT. Am I wrong? For example if my son doesn't get all the classes at FASET because they aren't available can he keep checking throughout the summer or does he have to wait until the end of the summer when all the freshman have registered?

Also do they normally have enough of the classes like calc II, physics & chem for all the freshmen to get them first semester or do some kids get stuck with mostly gen ed requirements instead.

Your son will have what is called a time ticket for registration. That time ticket is not like a physical ticket, but it’s the window of time when he is allowed to add or drop classes. He cannot add/drop outside of that time period without having a W (withdraw) on his transcript. I forgot the length of that window of time… I am not sure if it is posted for him but this is where you will find it:
Log onto buzzport
Go to OSCAR (which should be under Home or Student)
Go to Student Services and Financial Aid -> Registration -> Registration Status

In there it should say something about time tickets, which either lists your time or tells you you don’t have one yet. But he will be allowed to change his schedule however he likes during that time window. Additionally, there is phase 2 of registration, which takes place during the first week of classes. Then he will also be able to add or drop classes to his liking to further tweek his schedule if something isn’t working out.

There should be a decent amount of spots for those classes. I attended FASET 7 (last FASET session) and my schedule was English 1, Calc 2, Chem 1310, and Health. I wasn’t able to get all those at first, but I kept checking and refreshing the page throughout the day and when I saw an opening I grabbed it immediately. I think there is a requirement to take English 1 and 2 before you reach 30 credits now.
