registration start!

Just wondering.. is it ABSOLUTELY important to register your classes RIGHT on the minute you're able to? I was wondering about that because I won't be home on the day of my registration thingy... >.< but i heard how difficult it is to sign up for classes...

You can register any time after your registration time starts. However, I HIGHLY suggest that you do it as soon as possible. If you aren't available, ask someone to do it for you. One of my friends got his mom to register for him because he had work... The person may not be able to get ALL of the classes you want, but at least you'll get some...

I got a recommended schedule and is this for only fall quarter? do we register for each individual quarter?

I have to take the Math placement exam after I move in, so would I be able to register for my math course after taking the test?

i skipped work last year (called in sick) just to register for classes because i saw how fast the spots were going and didn't want to wait three extra hours.

ihavenolife: fall quarter only, and yes, you register each quarter separately and you will know by then what classes to take.

wandering_mystic: yes, i think so. but check with someone else. are you sure you need to take it? if you took trig or precalc in hs, you are waived from this requirement, or if you got >670 (?) on the sat2 math2c.

ucsdhopeful: i'm going into engineering, so yeah, i think i need to take it. the requirement for exemption is that you've either taken the ap calc test or that you've gotten a 650 on the sat II math II. unfortunately, i havent taken either of them so i have to take the test the instant i move in.. :(

just wondering, do we have to follow the recommended schedule? I am in sixth and was recommended to take a class in the area of Art Making for GE, but most of the classes, whether they are visual arts, or literature, are all full...is it possible to ignore this and take another area of GE?

Simple answer is you don't have to do anything you don't want. You can take a GE now, or you can save it until later. It is all up to you.

What I suggest is sending an email to one of your advisers and talking to them about it. They are there for people who have questions.
