Hi everyone! Do you know when students can register for classes? I have 2 holds .. I'm an international student. So I guess international students get last pick for classes because we have to meet with the registrar and also an advisor before she clears us for registration?

Is anyone taking 20 credits? Or is that crazy? I'm thinking of taking 18. And fitting in some music and sports to lighten the load.

All freshmen have to meet with an advisor before they can enroll for classes. Also, meetings with advisors don't happen till Wednesday of orientation, so there will be plenty of time for you to meet with the registrar before your advisor meeting, and you'll be cleared for registration at exactly the same time as other freshmen (give or take a couple hours).

And you can probably talk to your advisor about whether or not your proposed course schedule would be too crazy -- I think you have a student advisor, too, so you can talk to them as well. Plus, Stanford's on a quarter system, so if you take too many or too few you can sign up for fewer/more units in just 10 weeks.

It's really a nice system, takes some of the guesswork out of it so you don't have to stress out toooo much.

seriously.. that would suck! my sister said that when she was at NYU, internationals got last pick their first year... since international student orientation was later or something. my paranoia creeps in . .
