OP has had issues with depression. They need their parents’ insurance which they won’t have if they try to be self-supporting.
I just checked one state. If student is not a dependant on parents’ tax return, then independent student needs just 12 months in state of Arizona if not there just for attending college (i.e. work for a year before enrolling) & shows intent to stay (get an Arizona drivers license & register to vote in Arizona).
Other states are a bit more lenient, while majority are stricter.
College is not everything in life even though it may feel that way now. Count your blessings (no debt to graduate) and make the most of your experience at Temple. If you need to transfer in a year or two, transfer. In four years you can spread your wings wherever you wish to.
I also think if you are ready for college, period, Temple can work really well for you. I visited 3x and it was one of my kids’ finalists. We went to accepted student days (Owl days) and loved north Philly, and Philly overall. So I tend to say congratulations, enjoy your almost free college experience, do what you want, explore, major in what you want, you have no debt load to worry about!!
But if you are still struggling with depression, especially if you are not seeing someone about that, IMO it doesn’t matter where you go to college, you will not feel excited or ready.
I hope you come back and answer a few q’s from others above, so we can help you get excited or help you explore your options.
